God's Story at 415 South Hill

At Madison, we love Jesus and we love the city!
Our vision is to follow Christ together as diverse communities.

Madison Church: South Hill campus is a multisite worshipping community of Madison Church. We meet on Sundays at the historic intersection of Madison South Hill at 415 MLK St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49507, 616-344-2381.

For those seeking to be reconciled to God and to each other, the South Hill Campus is committed to the ministry of reconciliation.  Well, actually, this is God’s business, and we desire to obediently and passionately follow Him in this work.

Relying on the power of the Holy Spirit, we are committed to living out the gospel in the world today.  We gather to open the Word, pray, worship and experience the transformation of Christ in community—and we’ve been there to listen, walk-alongside, laugh and cry through significant events of each other’s lives.

We value Spirit-filled worship, gospel-centered leadership, biblical justice, and racial reconciliation, knowing that we do this imperfectly.  To that end, we celebrate our unity in Christ through diverse worship styles, preaching, leadership, and working to disrupt institutional and systemic racism.

It has not been easy.  For over ten years, we have led through space, race and social issues through the lense of the gospel.  Maybe that’s why we know so much about God’s restorative power and his grace.  These challenges have only forged greater commitment to the community we serve and to the leading of the Holy Spirit for direction.

This restorative resilience is fueled by the love of Christ and care we have for each other.  We believe in showing up, both for each other and for the community.  We walk alongside people who have overcome broken relationships, addiction, discrimination, depression, and other challenges, with a commitment to help them apply the timeless truths of the gospel of Jesus for every area of life.

Collaborative partnerships are essential to community development and none more so than what is represented by the 415 Franklin Project.  The vision represented by this project has infused a new energy and excitement into South Hill.  We are grateful and honored to share our home with other community-serving agencies like the Inner-City Christian Federation and the YMCA of Grand Rapids.

At Madison, we believe in the power of prayer!  After more than a decade of prayer, we praise God for our opening on February 14, 2021 and we are eternally grateful to God for his provision and in awe of the way He alone works.

We would love to meet you and share with you what God is doing in this place!  Now is the opportunity to follow Christ and live out 2 Corinthians 13:11 together:

“FINALLY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, REJOICE! STRIVE FOR FULL RESTORATION, ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER, BE OF ONE MIND, LIVE IN PEACE. AND THE GOD OF LOVE AND PEACE WILL BE WITH YOU.”
