Sharing Life Together

Welcome to the North Campus; we’re glad you’re here! We are an imperfect group of people from a diverse array of contexts who gratefully experience God’s grace and are learning how to extend that to each other. We believe we are in great need of a Savior and have a great Savior for our need. Knowing this, enables us to go out into the world and make a difference.

750 Eastern Ave NE
Grand Rapids, Michigan

Currently, we are gathering in person and on Zoom at 10 AM.

Whether we gather online or in the same room, people regularly describe our gatherings as authentic, real, transparent, God-glorifying, and full of gospel-hope and grace. We’re a come-as-you-are church and even when we’re not ‘zooming’ from our living rooms, our worship services have a living-room feel scaled up to 100 or so people. Whether you join in online or in person, there’s a seat for you.

For information on our gatherings for kids and youth, visit North’s Kids Ministry page.

On first Sundays our worship gathering happens around tables. We engage scripture, celebrate Communion, pray, and then have breakfast together. It’s open to everyone and a great way to re-engage or explore church for those who have questions/doubts/frustrations with organized religion. No need to bring anything; food will be provided!

We meet and worship at Emerald Flats, 750 Eastern Ave NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Parking is in the lot off of Eastern Ave NE or on the street. Enter through the doors that face Eastern Ave NE.

For virtual Sunday morning worship services:

Zoom gives the opportunity not only to view the services remotely but through its two-way engagement to participate if desired. This fits our gathered-as-family feel! Don’t let this scare you however! You’re welcome to keep your video/audio off if you choose.

It is not required that you have a Zoom account to view the worship service. Clicking on the link will automatically connect you to the livestream.

News at North

Black History Month is here and as has become our rhythm in recent years, we will be offering LISTEN AND LEARN opportunities each Wednesday evening.

February 7: We will kick off the month by watching a video that previews the upcoming book by Michael Emerson and Glenn E. Bracey II called “The Religion of Whiteness.” This thought-provoking presentation delves into data that looks at the beliefs of US Christians regarding race and ethnicity, shedding light on the impact of whiteness within religious contexts. SOUTH HILL CAMPUS, 6:45pm

February 14:  Ash Wednesday Service.  On the heels of the sobering data presented in the video, our Ash Wednesday service will give us the opportunity to corporately name our laments and confess sin as we are reminded of our dying and rising with Jesus. NORTH CAMPUS, 6:45pm

February 21: We’ve rented a theater for a private showing! You might be familiar with Isabel Wilkerson’s best-selling book Caste. The movie Origin is a film that tells the story surrounding the writing of that book.  It is timely, gripping, sobering, & insightful and will give us plenty to discuss! The film is 2 hours long and you can register in advance for the discounted price of $7 on here on Church Center.  If the ticket price is a burden, please contact your campus office for free tickets.  Note: Advanced registration is necessary as seating is limited to 70 people. CELEBRATION CINEMA NORTH, 6:30pm

Please note: This movie is rated PG13 and contains racially sensitive content.

February 28:  We’ll end the month by continuing our conversation over food! On this evening we’ll not only hear the story behind teacakes, but will enjoy eating them! We’ll also have the opportunity to continue the conversations started in the previous weeks. SOUTH HILL CAMPUS, 6:45pm
